B B C sports: “£15m to see him leave” – Pundit makes West Brom, Tom Fellows claim as Everton plot move.
Carlton Palmer, a former West Brom midfielder, reckons it will cost £15 million to trade Tom Fellows to Everton this month.
Fellows has been an outstanding player for the Baggies in recent months, and Premier League clubs such as Everton and Crystal Palace have expressed an interest in signing him, according to Teamtalk. This isn’t the first time West Brom has expressed interest in Fellows, with Ipswich Town and Southampton interested in the summer before the Saints’ rumoured £8 million approach was rejected. Things have changed at The Hawthorns since then, with Carlos Corberan departing for Valencia, but the winger has continued to impress, and Palmer claims it will cost £15 million to sign him this month.
Carlton Palmer delivers Tom Fellows asking price claim
Palmer, who won 18 caps for England in the 1990s, believes that losing Fellows would be a significant loss to the Baggies this month, but he wouldn’t be surprised if he left. Palmer told Football League World exclusively that Everton and Crystal Palace are interested in signing West Brom winger Tom Fellows, which will be concerning for fans of the club. “Both Premier League clubs have put the 21-year-old on their desire list. Fellows has received numerous accolades for his performances for the Albion this season, and after progressing through the youth system, he is an important member of the first-team squad.
“He’s produced two goals and ten assists in 26 Championship appearances this season. He’s been really excellent, and he’s a very talented player. It was claimed in the summer that Southampton made an approach of around £8 million for the midfielder, but the deal fell through. “It was also mentioned that Ipswich were interested in him, but now Everton and Palace are stepping up their efforts to obtain his services during the January transfer window. “This would be a terrible blow to West Brom. He had a breakout season last year, appearing 33 times in the Championship, including 14 starts.
“He’s been an important part of the team this season, and I believe it will take approximately £15 million to see him leave the club. “I believe it is one of those cases in which the manager, Carlos Corberan, has left the football club despite doing an excellent job, and I believe he has left because the investment is not sufficient. He needs to bring in a striker, therefore I wouldn’t be surprised if young Tom Fellows leaves if the proper deal comes in.”
West Brom should hold out for big money to sell Tom Fellows
Fellows is young, English, and talented, thus West Brom should not sell him for less than £10 million this month, especially when they are in a promotion chase. The 21-year-old is under contract at the Hawthorns until the summer of 2027, so their hand will not be forced, and they should only sell the kid if they receive an offer too good to turn down.

West Brom | 2021- | 72 | 7 | 14 |
Crawley Town (Loan) | 2022-23 | 40 | 0 | 2 |
Losing Fellows would be a devastating blow to West Brom’s promotion prospects, and whomever is hired as the club’s new manager should be anxious to keep him. The England U21 international will only develop, and West Brom will not want to trade him only to see him flourish somewhere and become worth more than he is currently. Fellows is a West Brom youth product, and the club should demand a high amount if they sell him.
