The teenage attacker is making the most of his time at Poundland Bescot Stadium and is still making an impression.
Nathan Lowe, a striker for Stoke City on loan from Walsall, is one of the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month
nominees for December. Over the course of the month, 19-year-old Lowe contributed six goals, five goals, and one
assist, helping the Saddlers have a flawless month that launched them to the top of the league, where they now lead
their promotion opponents by 10 points. Details about each nominee are shown below:
Nathan Lowe (Walsall) – Striker Lowe is constantly getting better, finding the correct spot to be, scoring five goals,
and helping Walsall score eleven. He also opened the score with three goals. He simply has a natural ability to finish
with composure.
Luke Garbutt (Salford City)—The full-back Salford kept five clean sheets in six games thanks to Garbutt, an all-action
defender who can cover ground both out wide and blocking crosses. He had a goal and an assist this month,
demonstrating the importance of his set piece delivery.
Ellis Iandolo (Colchester United)—The full-back Iandolo’s ability to read balls into wide players, intercept or cover,
and burst forward in possession and relieve defensive pressure was a major factor in Colchester’s undefeated month,
during which they preserved four clean sheets in five games.
Omar Sowunmi (Bromley):central defender Sowunmi’s impact on Bromley’s month was commensurate with his size,
as he scored headers in three straight games, won 50/50 challenges on the floor, and made clutch tackles as his team
only gave up five goals in six games.
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Chief
Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies, with winners announced on, Friday, 10th January.
