Neil Critchley may have January transfer decision to make as Hearts attacker monitored by EFL Championship clubs

Neil Critchley may have January transfer decision to make as Hearts attacker monitored by EFL Championship clubs.

The January transfer window is moving quite nicely, with a couple of moves already completed.

Hearts have already been busy, with Elton Kabangu joining after obtaining his work permit. The Jambos are looking for another winger, as speculation over the futures of Barrie McKay and Yutaro Oda grows.

While Kabangu is flexible, he is not guaranteed a starting spot this weekend against Aberdeen due to other in-form players. With Hearts seeking for another wide player, it raises questions about Musa Drammeh’s future, and Not the Old Firm can reveal the player has suitors down south. Musa Drammeh has clubs in the Championship studying him. NTOF understands that Championship clubs are keeping an eye on the 23-year-old during the January transfer window, with the goal of perhaps moving him to the second tier before February. Cardiff City is one team that has been associated with the player, though NTOF understands this is not an active engagement at the moment. Drammeh, a Spaniard, signed a three-year contract with Tynecastle this summer.

He was even left out of the club’s Conference League numbers in a move which Naismith described as a call due to his “place in the squad”.

How has Drammeh performed at Hearts this season?

Drammeh has appeared in 11 games in all competitions this season, scoring twice, including a stunning goal against Celtic in November. He also scored the winning goal for the Gorgie club against Motherwell last week, which drew the attention of other clubs. He is still under contract with the club until 2027, giving manager Neil Critchley and his squad a strong bargaining position if there is any genuine, concrete interest this month.
