EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS: WYCOMBE WANDERERS 0-1 TOWN
Herbie Kane’s first-half strike seals a crucial away victory as Wycombe Wanderers defeats Huddersfield Town 0-1; view the complete, extended highlights via HTTV on YouTube below.
Herbie Kane, a midfielder, scored a brilliant volley in the first half to give Huddersfield Town their fourth straight
away victory in Sky Bet League One at Adams Park. The win over Wycombe Wanderers also extended our league
winning streak to 15 games overall.
The matchup between second and fourth was as difficult as many had expected, but the Terriers had the tenacity and
determination to win all three points that night, making it a truly classy moment in the competition’s opening
quarter.
Until Herbie Kane capitalised on a Ben Wiles corner that was miscleared and hammered a volley across goal into the
opposite top corner, earning a goal that might win any game, there wasn’t much separating the two teams for the
majority of the match.
Since joining Town on a free transfer from Barnsley in the summer, Kane has only scored twice, but it was a big goal
that moved them closer to the teams above them in fourth place. After our match on New Year’s Day was postponed,
we still have a game in hand even though Wycombe and Wrexham are four points behind us.
With the whole team coming together to work hard and hold the home team at bay despite their attempts to break
through, Town was able to travel safely thanks to a determined defensive effort. Despite Michał Helik’s unanticipated
illness absence, the Terriers welcomed Radinio Balker back for the first time during the 2024–25 season, and the
central defender made a striking late-game appearance off the bench.
Town will now travel to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon in an attempt to win five straight away Sky Bet
League One games and go undefeated in the league for the sixteenth time at Croud Meadow.
