Bescot Stadium live as station closed after ‘assault’ leaves woman with ‘life-threatening injuries’

After the incident at the Bescot Stadium train station, an 18-year-old guy has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempting to kill someone.

A woman suffered “life-threatening injuries” in a “serious” assault at a rail station in the Black Country. Passengers have been informed that trains will not be stopping at Bescot Stadium Station ‘until further notice’.

The woman was brought to the hospital for further emergency care when emergency officials arrived on the scene on Sunday, October 20, at approximately 11:25 p.m. On suspicion of trying to kill someone, a male 18-year-old has been arrested.

Officers from British Transport Police and West Midlands Police remained on the scene on Monday morning (October 21). The station has been closed as investigations continue.

Rail replacement coaches will operate between Walsall and Tame Bridge Parkway, according to National Rail. West Midlands Transport also told passengers to “plan ahead” since “Trains will not call at Bescot Stadium until further notice.”

Detective issues witness plea

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell from British Transport Police has issued an appeal for witnesses.

He said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and passengers will see an increased police presence in the area as a result. The station will also remain closed. I urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact British Transport Police.”

According to British Transport Police, after the incident at Bescot Stadium, an 18-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

According to a statement: “Just after 11:25 p.m. yesterday (October 20), officers were called to the Bescot Stadium railway station after receiving complaints of a serious assault. West Midlands Police and paramedics also responded, and a person with potentially fatal injuries was brought to the hospital.

“One man aged 18 has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.”

After an altercation at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium Railway Station, an 18-year-old has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempting to kill someone.

While enquiries into the probe are being conducted, the station is closed and officers are on the site.

“Officers were called to Bescot Stadium railway station just after 11:25pm today (October 21) following reports of a serious assault,” a spokesman for the British Transport Police said. A person with potentially fatal injuries was brought to the hospital by paramedics who also arrived.

Woman in ‘serious condition’ following ‘assault at railway station’

Medics were summoned to the station on Sunday night after allegations of an assault, according to the West Midlands Ambulance Service.

After being discovered in critical condition, a woman was transported to a hospital under blue lights for “further emergency care.”

The complete statement said: “We received a call about an attack at Bescot Stadium Railway Station in Walsall last night (Sunday) at 11:28 p.m. The MERIT trauma team, a paramedic officer, an ambulance, and HART paramedics were present.

When the team got there, they discovered a woman in critical condition. Before being transported to the hospital under blue lights for additional emergency care, she got trauma care on the spot.
