Régis Le Bris drops Enzo Le Fée hint in Sunderland January transfer window update
Régis Le Bris declined to comment on Sunderland’s pursuit of Enzo Le Fée this afternoon, but did concede that the club is primarily looking for players who can rapidly integrate into the squad for the last months of the Championship season.
In a reference to Le Fée’s impending departure, Sunderland’s head coach stated that the 24-year-old suited the criteria after working with him at Lorient.
“It’s not done, so there is nothing I can say about it right now,” Le Bris told me.
“About this timeframe, I can tell that we’ve spoken a lot about the potential and goals we can achieve. We seek a player that understands the system and the game model.
This is the same game we used to play in Lorient. We want athletes that are related to our unique identity, and although this person may fit the bill, it is not yet done.
Enzo can play as a ten, eight, or six. We’ll see; it’s a market with plenty of potential.
Sunderland are nearing the end of their initial loan agreement with AS Roma, which will become an obligation to purchase if the team is promoted to the Premier League.
The transfer has not been completed, but the midfielder will go to Wearside this afternoon to complete the final paperwork.
