OFFICIAL- JOACHIM KAYI SANDA ARRIVES AT SOUTHAMPTON FROM VAFC
Joachim Kayi Sanda, 18, has officially joined Southampton FC from Valenciennes FC. The teenage centre-back is regarded as one of the best players of his generation and has captained France at the U18 and U19 age groups.
Last season, Kayi Sanda emerged as a key member of VAFC’s team and played a significant role in the team’s run to the Coupe de France semifinal. He did not, however, play in the team’s 3-0 loss against Olympique Lyonnais.
VAFC had a disappointing season last season as they were demoted to the Championnat National after finishing last in Ligue 2. On the other hand, Kayi Sanda kept improving and was a consistent member of the team.
He now joins Southampton, their sister club, after leaving his formative club. It is currently unknown if he will play for the Premier League team this season or if they will choose to let him grow at a different level.
