Liverpool youngster Lewis Koumas is spending the season on loan at Championship struggler Stoke and is apparently attracting interest from a number of promotion-chasing teams
Liverpool is allegedly pleased with Lewis Koumas’ progress during his loan stay at Stoke City, although promotion-chasing clubs West Brom, Sheffield United, and Watford are claimed to be interested in buying him for the second half of the season.
Teenage forward Koumas has four goals in 29 appearances for the Potters, who are presently ranked 19th in the table.
The Reds are probably delighted with Koumas’ playing time in Staffordshire, and it is unclear whether Liverpool would consider sending him somewhere for the second half of the season.
Sheffield United is pursuing immediate promotion to the Premier League, while West Brom and Watford are vying for a play-off position, and all three clubs are interested in signing Koumas to help their promotion campaigns, according to the Daily Mail.
Stoke are thought to be hopeful of keeping the teenager, who has already played five senior games for Wales. Koumas made his international debut in a friendly against Gibraltar in June, and he played in three of Wales’ six Nations League games earlier this season.
Koumas signed a new contract with Liverpool before joining Stoke on loan in the summer, although it is unclear how long that will last.
Koumas scored on his first senior debut for Liverpool, a 3-0 win over Southampton in the FA Cup fifth round, after being given an unexpected start by former Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.
Koumas, 19, is the son of former professional soccer player Jason Koumas, who played in the Premier League for West Brom and Wigan.
