“I really like the sound of this” – Norwich City backed to seal €6m transfer

The Canaries are reportedly preparing an opening proposal of €6 million, per a report from the Czech website iSport. Oscar Schwartau and Emiliano Marcondes, who have both played a little out of position in the first half of the season, would have competition from him for the right-wing spot. We consulted Zeke, our Norwich Fan Pundit, to get his opinion on the suggested transfer.

“I really like the sound of this, especially with the fact that he is a right winger as well because I think that’s where we’re limited right now, in terms of quality,” Zeke remarked in an interview with Football League World.Getting a player in this mold is a great thing because, while there is a clear drop off in skill from [Borja] Sainz to the next player, there isn’t much of a loss in numbers.

“It’s a significant sum of money for a man about whom we don’t know much, but it’s clear that they have been considering him for a while, and I believe they would only do it if they believe it is worthwhile.”Since the majority of our transfers have gone well thus far, I’m prepared to have faith that this one will be worthwhile as well.

With transfers, the Canaries have a solid record.

Norwich has previously ventured to a lesser-known league, paid a hefty price for a potential player, and later enjoyed the benefits. Gabriel Sara is the ideal illustration. The Brazilian had previously only played for Sao Paulo in his native country before the Canaries spent £6 million on him.

He started right away, making 40 appearances in the Championship that season, scoring seven goals and dishing out four assists. Even better, he tripled the number of assists he provided and nearly doubled his goal totals the next season. Norwich got two good seasons out of Sara for their original £6 million investment, and when Galatasaray’s €25 million bid came in the summer, they were able to sell him for a healthy profit.

It’s conceivable that Norwich could do the same with Jurasek here, since they have also seemingly unexpectedly acquired elite players like Teemu Pukki and Emi Buendia. Despite his advanced age, the 21-year-old has been playing in the top level of Czechia for a number of years, gaining significant Europa League experience along the way. He now seems prepared for his next move. Jurasek is a right winger with a left foot who has scored goals and provided assists on a regular basis both at home and in Europe. Zeke and other Norwich supporters will be hoping that their team has found another gem who can step in and give their front line some much-needed firepower if they are successful in closing this transaction.
