Celtic star labelled ‘great value for money’ could seek transfer exit if signing is made

The Bhoys confirmed earlier today that Stephen Welsh has joined KV Mechelen on loan for the duration of the campaign, continuing as they want to.Following Welsh’s departure last week, Brendan Rodgers laid out his plan, and Dane Murray, who returned from a stint of his own at Queens Park, will take his spot in the team. The rotating door at Parkhead appears to be starting to revolve, and there will likely be a lot more activity before the window ends. But since the year began, there has been one Celtic narrative that has taken more unexpected turns than others.

Andy Walker on the consequences of Celtic’s pursuit of Kieran Tierney

Andy Walker, a former Celtic player, said on the Go Radio Football Show that Greg Taylor has been “great value for money” while he has been at Parkhead. However, he doesn’t believe the former Kilmarnock player would remain as a backup left-back given the rumors that he would be replaced by Kieran Tierney until he signs a contract deal.

First, he said, “I have no idea what his intentions are,” in response to a caller’s question about Taylor’s motivations. All I can say is that I have truly appreciated everything he has done for Celtic over the past few years. Sometimes, I believe he is underappreciated.I am aware that he has played midfield in his early career, and his game seems to reflect that. I believe he’s been fantastic the number of times I’ve seen him make spectacular passes. Excellent value for the money.

Walker later responded, “No, I don’t,” when asked if Taylor would be willing to stay if Tierney joined from Arsenal. He has played Champions League football on a regular basis. He plays for other countries. He was a really good player. He’s always high. Kieran Tierney is a better defender, in my opinion. Therefore, as a club, you try to improve at every position if that’s what Celtic is after.
