Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing LOSC Lille forward Jonathan David, as per Caught Offside.
Dominic Solanke has been Ange Postecoglou’s first-choice center-forward since joining the Lilywhites from AFC Bournemouth for a club record price last summer. His deputy, Richarlison, has been out of commission lately due to injury issues. Spurs appear to have begun exploring their options for acquiring a new striker. Tottenham is reportedly interested in signing David and may make a firm move this year, according to Caught Offside. He is anticipated to go at the end of current season, however it seems unlikely that he would do so this month. In order for the North London club to reach an agreement with the Canadian in January to sign him as a free agent next summer, he has entered the last six months of his current contract.

Tottenham isn’t the only team interested in acquiring him, though, as West Ham, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are also vying for his services. He had previously been coveted by Manchester United, but Dan Ashworth and Erik ten Hag, the former manager and sporting director, were more interested. Therefore, they are not currently examining him. Because of the unavailability of Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen, West Ham’s attacking depth has become limited. The veteran was just released from the hospital after a car accident, and the Englishman has a fractured foot. Both are therefore expected to be out for a long time.
Over the years, David has demonstrated his ability to score goals in Ligue 1. He has now had a successful first half of the season, making 22 games in the Champions League and the French first division, scoring 15 goals and dishing out two assists. The Canadian has not yet hit his prime and is only 24 years old. If either Tottenham or West Ham were to acquire him, it would be a wise move because he is a gifted player with a lot of potential. To strengthen the front line, it will be intriguing to watch if David is eventually signed by the Lilywhites or the Hammers.
