Steve Cooper’s stance on return to management revealed after Leicester City sacking

Steve Cooper’s stance on return to management revealed after Leicester City sacking.

Leicester City fired Steve Cooper and replaced him with Ruud van Nistelrooy a little over a month ago. Cooper was fired by Leicester in November, after winning four of his first 15 games in charge. Cooper banned Jannik Vestergaard from training due to off-field issues. Furthermore, a number of Leicester players were seen partying in Copenhagen just hours after the Welshman’s last game in charge.

The 48-year-old still has plenty of experience from his previous roles with Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and the England youth sides and as a result, has been linked with a number of jobs in the past two weeks.

Steve Cooper linked with Championship jobs after Leicester sacking

Cooper’s less-than-perfect few months at King Power Stadium did not deter potential suitors. Coventry City and Stoke City were reportedly interested in hiring the Welshman after firing both of their managers. According to The Sun, Cooper is willing to wait it out till the ideal position becomes available. Some teams will find it difficult to meet the criteria of the former Leicester City manager. His salary is likely to be very costly, which is apparently why Stoke chose Mark Robins after signing Narcis Pelach as their disastrous campaign continued.
