Sky Sports Johannes Hoff Thorup may be able to unlock Lewis Dobbin’s talent at Norwich City.

It’s difficult to imagine this year going well for Dobbin if this newest change does not result in additional game time, which would eventually harm his growth as a player. Although Dobbin appears to be an obvious replacement for Liverpool loanee Kaide Gordon, who has struggled for form and consistency this season, rumours suggest that his forthcoming arrival will have no impact on that front. Gordon has only started once for Norwich this season, scoring one goal in nine games. However, according to journalist Samuel Seaman, the signing of Dobbin will have no impact on Gordon’s current loan from Liverpool.

Instead, Dobbin is rumoured to be a replacement for Christian Fassnacht, who just left Norwich to rejoin Swiss club Young Boys. For the rest of the season, he will compete for minutes on the flank against Gordon, Sainz, and Onel Hernandez. The former Derby County loanee was signed in time to play in Saturday’s home game against Coventry City, where he came on as a substitute in the 60th minute to help Norwich defeat Frank Lampard’s side 2-1.

There is clearly a talent in Dobbin, but perhaps the end product isn’t there right now – Thorup could be the right man to get a little bit more out of the forward over the next few months.
