Mat Sadler Wants to Keep Building After Penning New Walsall Deal
The gaffer has ended any speculation over his future by penning a new deal in WS1.
Walsall Head Coach Mat Sadler has welcomed the opportunity to extend his stay at the club after putting pent o paper on a contract that will see him remain until at least the summer of 2028.
Sadler, who is among the nominees for December’s League Two Manager of the Month award, has guided the Saddlers to the top of the table, giving them a ten-point advantage over the team below. Wit speculation linking him with vacant managerial positions at other clubs.
Walsall FC were keen to tie their man down for the foreseeable future, especially following a superb run of form. Speaking via the club’s official website, Sadler admitted he is keen to continue his recent success, and is pleased to put pen to paper on a new contract, he said: “It was an easy decision to get a new deal sorted. “I want to continue the hard work that we’re putting in and we should be proud at this football club of the owners we have who want to continue to build and grow for the future.
It’s a very stable football club, which can’t be said about a lot in this country. “My belief is that success comes with that stable footing and that’s where we want to grow and build from and this is just a continuation of that. “We’ve got some wonderful young players and some wonderful experienced players at the football club and we feel like we’re on a journey together and we want to keep that going. “I would also like to thank Ben Boycott, Leigh Pomlett and Ben Sadler for their continued support and backing. I’m looking forward to continuing the progress and hard work.”
