Leeds United fans to breathe a sigh of relief after Jack Harrison news

Leeds United are on the right track as Daniel Farke attempts to return his club to the Premier League this season.

At the midway point of the season, the German’s team leads the Championship standings by one point above Burnley and Sheffield United.

However, with plenty of football still to be played, the manager will not want to get ahead of himself, especially with the battle for the top of the league expected to be tight.

Farke has declared a desire to keep transfer business to a minimal this January, but reinforcements will be required to maintain his side’s momentum throughout the season.

According to Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post (7 January), Jack Harrison will remain at Everton until the end of the season. All parties must agree to cancel the loan, therefore Leeds supporters can rest easy that he will not be returning in January.

Leeds United benefited greatly from Jack Harrison’s loan.

Leeds have thrived without Harrison’s services over the last two seasons, but Farke will be aiming to ensure his team has the squad depth required to finish the season on a positive note.

With that in mind, the 28-year-old’s retention at Goodison ensures the West Yorkshire club keeps one of its best earners off the payroll.

Furthermore, the winger is in bad form this season, having failed to score or assist in 17 Premier League outings, and the Whites will be searching for reinforcements who can make an instant impact during this window.

With the promotion race shaping up to be a close one, those at Elland Road will be wary of getting ahead of themselves, knowing that they will have to wait until the very end of the campaign to secure the automatic promotion they aimed for this season.

However, the squad must also be devoted to the cause, and Harrison has already shown that he is not that player since his departure to Merseyside.

As a result, Leeds will undoubtedly consider themselves the luckiest of the two teams right now as they try to continue under Farke in the same great form they have exhibited so far and return to the top flight.
