Championship rivals make transfer enquiry for Sheffield United ‘target’

Sheffield United’s opponents are now attempting to make bids during the open January transfer window.

Sheffield United ‘target’ Ricky-Jade Jones is apparently the subject of an inquiry from Cardiff City.

According to Football League World, Peterborough United has been questioned about the prospect of signing him by

the Blades’ next opponents. In an effort to maintain their championship status, the Bluebirds are searching for

reinforcements.

Although Jade-Jones is on their radar, WalesOnline claims that a deal is “unlikely.” Due to their manager’s

predicament, Cardiff is giving priority to loan signings this season. Players looking for a permanent move would

want more guarantees about their long-term future because Omer Riza’s contract is only valid until the end of the

current campaign.

The 22-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 30 games in all competitions this season. With a

100-meter pace of 10.9 seconds, less than 1.4 seconds slower than Usain Bolt’s, is considered League One’s fastest

player.

At the conclusion of the season, his contract with Peterborough expires, and clubs will be watching to see what

Peterborough tells Cardiff. Due to their reputation for nurturing young players and then selling them for a healthy

profit, the Posh have a history of being difficult negotiators.

Peterborough United’s stance on Ricky Jade-Jones In the summer, Jade-Jones was linked to a move to Bramall

Lane, and a deal had been reached. The delay in the takeover meant that the forward stayed at London Road, with

His price increasing boosted as a result. However, United was able to sign Harrison Burrows, a teammate.

“Ricky has added regular goals to his game and he will be a striker everyone wants to buy in January,” chairman

Darragh MacAnthony stated this in an interview with our sister publication, the Peterborough Telegraph, in November.

“A club agreed to buy him in the summer, but their takeover didn’t go through on time and now his price has gone

up. Ricky might go for even more than Kwame, as he’s been with us since he was seven.”

According to reports, six clubs tried unsuccessfully to sign Jade-Jones throughout the summer. Should his contract

expire, the Cambridgeshire team would be safeguarded by a price determined by a tribunal.
