Leicester are not alone in their pursuit of Thomas Kristiansen from Udinese. He is a significant target for several clubs, one of which is rumoured to be Tottenham.
Caleb Okoli was previously described as a player who could go, and he is now rumoured to be a near target for Parma. Ruud van Nistelrooy hasn’t given him much playing time. Okoli might open up a spot in the team while also bringing in a substantial money. Caleb Okoli enjoyed a successful season at Frosinone before joining Leicester. He has also been called up to the Italian squad for a few games this season, but has yet to make his full international debut. He has a solid record at the Serie A level, he is young, but still not a player Leicester looks to need at this point.
We’ve seen Leicester linked with central defenders, but it makes no sense to bring in a player who will struggle to earn a regular place in the team, and as we know, with three full internationals already at the club, signing a cover would be a foolish move. I’d rather see a guy draughted in on a short-term, free agent basis to serve as backup if any of the other three are out.
This is the junk that Ruud van Nistelrooy must sort with, balancing his team with the players he requires while also keeping an eye on contract lengths and learning how to grade quality.
Listening to fans and pundits talk about Jannik Vestergaard makes you feel nearly nauseous, as his strengths are constantly downplayed, with the guy being blamed for his pace as the obvious reason to drop him. Clearly, these people have little or no knowledge of football, as the key to use Vestergaard to his full potential is to have the right player alongside him, which should be either Wout Faes or Conor Coad. He has faced the world’s finest forwards and hushed them all while on service for Denmark. In the company of Joakim Andersen, Thomas Christensen, and Simon Kjaer, he is plainly superior. His distribution of the ball from the back is among the best there is, but unfortunately does not give the team enough passing quality to use this as a special advantage.
Ruud van Nistelrooy appears to have a plan, and allowing Caleb Okoli to leave makes sense. Other players that could leave include Hamza Choudhury and Patson Daka, if the price is right and the players agree to the transfer. Daniel Iversen is also listed as a prospective departure at this time, but he will not go until Mads Hermansen is totally fit.
A number of fresh players have been linked; don’t miss out on our hot, cold, and cold list of rumours, where you’ll find a new link to a player currently on the books at Coventry who might move to Leicester. You may also take a closer look at the lost part, which has a defender who has moved to Ipswich.
