Rangers could land dream signing for Hagi in move for “impressive” star
The January transfer market opened for business in the middle of last week, but Glasgow Rangers, led by Philippe Clement, have not yet made their first acquisition. In order to strengthen the team, the Light Blues head coach collaborated with Nils Koppen to bring three new players to Ibrox during the winter transfer window last year.
In an effort to bolster the team for the second half of the season, Fabio Silva, Oscar Cortes, and Mohamed Diomande all signed short-term loan agreements. Together, they helped the Gers advance to the SFA Cup final. The Gers need to make additions to compete for the SFA Cup and the Europa League in order to avoid finishing the season without a trophy after losing to Celtic on penalties in the League Cup and already falling behind their opponents in the Scottish Premiership.
Before doing additional work in the summer window, Clement might wish to add one or two players to help his team, like they did with Diomande, Silva, and Cortes last year. Ianis Hagi, an offensive midfielder who rejoined Rangers after missing the first few games of the season due to a contract dispute, is one player who has been like a fresh addition to the team.
The performance of Ianis Hagi this season
Despite giving up an easy penalty in the second half, the Romanian international put up another strong offensive performance for the Light Blues in Sunday’s 3-3 Premiership draw with Motherwell at Easter Road. The explosive playmaker made an effect on the game in just four minutes, as Rangers took a 1-0 lead after Hamza Igamane blasted in his cross from the left flank.
Hagi made sure to build on his outstanding performance from the team’s 3-0 victory over Celtic at Ibrox in the previous game. Early in the game, the midfield standout scored with a spectacular long-range left-footed drive into the bottom corner. With the ability to play as either the left winger or the number ten in Clement’s formation, he has returned to the team to give both technical skill and tactical versatility in attacking midfield roles.
