Omer Riza makes concerning Middlesbrough goals claim after Cardiff City draw
Cardiff City’s Omer Riza expressed satisfaction with a well-earned point against Middlesbrough, despite falling behind 1-0.
Despite remaining second-bottom in the Championship, the draw extended Cardiff’s unbeaten streak to three games. Emmanuel Latte Lath’s early goal was cancelled out by former Boro loanee Calum Chambers in the 22nd minute, earning the visitors a draw.
Though Boro enjoyed possession for the duration of the game, they struggled to break down Cardiff’s defence, with Michael Carrick conceding after the game that Boro asked too few questions of their opponents. Worryingly for Boro, who have thrown away too many points this season, Riza understood his team needed to maintain their optimism that they could get something out of the game, especially after falling behind so early.
The Bluebirds’ head coach stated, “I’m very pleased with the point.” Middlesbrough is a really excellent team. There are no easy games in this league. Everyone is competing for points, and everyone requires points, therefore no game is simple.
“When you come to venues like this, you have to make it difficult for the opposition, else they will overwhelm you and score three, four, or five goals, like they have all season. However, they have conceded at times, leaving them minus three points.
