Exclusive: After Doak bid, Crystal Palace now set to offer £20m for Arsenal target ripping up the Championship

According to TBR Football, Crystal Palace is preparing to make a bid for Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.

In recent years, the Eagles have found the Championship to be an excellent area to shop, signing players such as Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise, and Adam Wharton from England’s second tier.

With Crystal Palace only five points above the Premier League relegation zone at the time of writing, Steve Parish obviously wants to give Oliver Glasner some reinforcements in the January transfer window.

The south Londoners have already returned to the Championship with a bid for Ben Doak, the Scottish wonderkid on loan at Middlesbrough from Liverpool, and TBR Football understands another offer has been made for a player in that division in the form of Jobe Bellingham.

Crystal Palace is set to submit Jobe Bellingham bid.

According to Graeme Bailey, Chief Correspondent at TBR Football, Crystal Palace is interested in signing Sunderland’s No. 7 this month.

Crystal Palace scouts have been keeping a close eye on the Black Cats this season, and the Eagles are also known to be fans of Chris Rigg and Trai Hume.

However, Selhurst Park has determined that Bellingham is the priority and is prepared to make an offer to Sunderland.

TBR Football has been told that Crystal Palace intend to emulate the £22 million Wharton purchase from last January, where they surprised a lot of Premier League rivals by moving early for the midfield master.

Sunderland would want to keep Bellingham, who Tottenham scouted last summer, but with Regis Le Bris looking to make additions this month, the England U21 international might be sold to boost finances.

TBR Football understands Arsenal and Crystal Palace are both keeping an eye on the 19-year-old, while Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, who also bought his brother Jude, are also interested. Bellingham has four goals and three assists in 22 Championship outings this season.

Ben Doak update

Sources have also provided an update on the Doak situation.

Crystal Palace bid £15 million for Doak, which Liverpool refused, but TBR Football understands that has not deterred the Eagles, and they refuse to stop up on the Scottish international.

Ipswich have also had a £16 million proposal rejected, but, like Crystal Palace, they do not intend to stop there.
