Why Blackburn Rovers boss John Eustace was ‘upset’ with Scott Parker after Burnley’s derby win

Scott Parker and John Eustace, the manager of Blackburn Rovers, had a lengthy, full-time argument after Burnley’s derby triumph.

The referee blew the full-time whistle, and the two were captured on camera by Sky Sports having a somewhat heated argument.

It followed the Clarets manager turning to his bench to join his coaching staff and substitutes in celebrating the team’s 1-0 triumph.

Before the two finally shake hands and exchange angry words, the camera quickly shifts to Eustace.

Then, in order for Parker to congratulate his players and join the celebration with the goal’s supporters, his aides Mike Jackson and Jonathan Hill had to pull him away.

The Burnley boss, who was queried about the situation by Sky Sports after the game, said: “He was just a little bit irritated at the end because I didn’t shake his hand first after full time.

He was a little agitated there, John, and that’s probably due to my unfiltered emotions at the time.

“But I obviously just explained and apologised for that, but as you can imagine sometimes in the raw emotion of games…at that moment I probably just forgot that.”

Zian Flemming’s superb header on the hour minute gave Burnley the derby victory.

With the result, Burnley’s winning streak now stands at 13 and they are only one point behind leaders Leeds United, who drew 3–3 with Hull City.

In the meantime, Sheffield United levelled the score with Parker’s team after defeating Watford 2-1 on the road.
