Tom Cleverley highlights the quality that earned Sheffield United valuable win at Watford

Tom Cleverley demonstrates the calibre that contributed to Sheffield United’s significant victory over Watford.

Watford manager Tom Cleverley acknowledged that Sheffield United’s “winning habit” was crucial to the Blades’

thrilling triumph at Vicarage Road this afternoon. When it comes to their home form, the hosts are right up there in the division, but United won three crucial points.

Following Jeremy Ngakia’s equaliser for the home team, goals in each half from Gus Hamer and Andre Brooks allowed the Blades to close the distance on leaders Leeds United, who were only able to draw 3-3 at Hull after giving up two late goals.
“Certainly, on the balance of the second half, we were more than value for a point, I don’t remember them having
much so it’s disappointing,” Cleverley, who served under Blades manager Chris Wilder at Vicarage Road, said in a
post-match interview.Chris is one of their key British players who knows how to get the job done. One squad is
accustomed to winning, while the other is not. One has a winning habit, whereas the other does not.
“This is the month that really finds teams and individuals out and it’s found us out.”
Giorgi Chakvetadze had a chance to put Watford back in the game in the second half, but United custodian Michael
Cooper brilliantly blocked his attempt. Watford also thought they should have had a penalty when the ball struck
Harrison Burrows’ arm in the closing seconds.

“Cooper’s been a revelation int he league this year and he’s a top, top custodian,” Cleverley stated. “The handball had a clear cut. It doesn’t seem to fit the definition of a stonewall.

“His teammate headed it onto him from two yards away, yet it’s a penalty. If it were against you, you would feel unfairly treated, yet according to the rules, it is a penalty.
