Sheffield Wednesday and Luton Town keen on Stoke City loan ace.

Sheffield Wednesday and Luton Town are keen on Stoke City loanee Tom Cannon, as per a report by The Sun.

Stoke City swooped to land the striker on a temporary basis from Leicester City in late August to bolster their attacking ranks. He has since scored 10 goals in 24 games for the Championship side during the first-half of this season, nine of which have come in the league.

Cannon, 22, is due to spend the whole campaign with the Potters and return to the King Power Stadium in the summer. However, it remains to be seen whether he will be sticking around with his future up in the air.

In this latest update regarding his situation at the Bet365 Stadium, The Sun claim the Staffordshire outfit are sweating over whether the Foxes will recall him and sell him to a second tier rival, with Sheffield Wednesday and Luton Town interested. His price tag is likely to be high though and the duo would have to fork out a big fee.

Sheffield Wednesday are on the brink of the play-offs and could see Cannon as someone to help fire them into the top six.

Luton Town have endured a disappointing term to date since their relegation from the Premier League and may have identified the attacker as a target to pull them away from the bottom three.

link up with Stoke City to get some game time by Leicester City and he has been a hit with the Potter

After joining them, he told their website: “Stoke City is a massive club, with an exciting young team and I’m absolutely delighted to be joining.

“I’ve had loads of messages from the supporters. I’m feeling the love from them already and being appreciated at a Club is massive. I’m hoping I can get off the mark as soon as possible and repay them with goals.

“What they will see is me working my socks off and being up for it, and when I get an opportunity, I can put it away.

The Republic of Ireland international has also been on the books at Everton in the past and was loaned out to Preston North End by the Toffees.

What now?

Stoke City will be praying that Leicester City don’t bring him back over the coming weeks.

He would be an eye-catching addition for either Sheffield Wednesday or Luton Town if they were able to land him.
