Ipswich Town: Omari Hutchinson out for ‘weeks’ with groin injury

Ipswich Town: Omari Hutchinson out for ‘weeks’ with groin injury.

Omari Hutchinson, an Ipswich Town forward, is expected to be out for ‘weeks’ after missing today’s 2-2 draw at Fulham due to groin injury. Hutchinson, whose goal sealed Monday night’s 2-0 home victory over his former side Chelsea, will play 33 games in 2024. McKenna addressed his absence today, saying, “It’s his groin.” He’ll be out for weeks.

“It occurred at the very beginning of the first session following the Chelsea game. He worked extremely hard against Arsenal and Chelsea, so it’s an overuse injury, but they’re bound to happen over the course of the season, especially given Omari’s output. “It was disappointing to lose him for today, but it’s the FA Cup next weekend and we’ll recover him as quickly as we can.” Hutchinson has joined Axel Tuanzebe (hamstring), Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles), and George Hirst (hamstring) in the treatment room.

“We don’t speak about the injuries too much, but we’ve missed important players all season, the Christmas games included,” said McKenna.
“We missed Liam (against Newcastle) and Samy (Morsy at Arsenal) due to suspensions, and now Omari (Hutchinson). We’ve had to make more modifications than we’d want, but everyone in the group is battling. We have a lot of players stepping up, which is a testament to the group. “Hopefully we’ll have good availability for the second half of the season, hopefully we’ll make some good additions in January and keep trying to take on this really big challenge.”
