Interesting detail as Brazilian giants ‘make transfer bid’ for in-form Sheffield Wednesday star

According to sources, one of the largest teams in South America has made an offer to purchase Josh Windass, a standout player for Sheffield Wednesday.

With five goals in his previous six games, including a spectacular goal from within his own half in their victory over

Derby County over the weekend, the Owls attacker is in scorching form. According to GiveMeSport, the 30-year-old,
who has scored 10 goals in Championship football so far this season, has now received a bid from Brazilian
powerhouse Santos.

This wouldn’t be the first time Windass has been the subject of interest from South America and interestingly the

two instances are linked. Santos are managed by Pedro Caixinha, Windass’ former manager at Rangers. Caixinha

was in charge of Argentine outfit Atletico Talleres when in the summer of 2022 they launched a six-figure bid to sign

the Wednesday man in a transfer saga that was played out publicly by Talleres officials.

A number of senior Owls players, including Wembley hero Windass, inked new contracts with the team during the

summer. He just increased his Wednesday goal total to 50, making him just the third player this century to do so,

following Marcus Tudgay and Atdhe Nuhiu. He is currently in his sixth season with the team.

Windass expressed his delight with his job at S6 and complimented Owls manager Danny Röhl for his impact when

discussing the reasons behind his recent impressive play earlier this week.

“I think it’s because I have a better manager than I had before and I’m playing in a role that allows me to get chances

and get forward at the same time,” he told The Star. The fact that this is the best squad I’ve played for at this level is

always beneficial to me as a forward. I feel like I’ve experienced that a few times. Sometimes, there are good players

near the bottom of the division, and when that occurs, the players don’t get spoken about as much.
