Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive, Sky Blues boss Frank Lampard is connected with interest in a former Arsenal defender now on the books of Premier League club Crystal Palace.
Coventry City manager Frank Lampard is reportedly interested in signing former Arsenal defender Rob Holding.
The 29-year-old centre-back was transferred to Crystal Palace for £4 million in 2023, but he is now out of favour at Selhurst Park after a falling out with boss Oliver Glasner.
The right-sided defender, who can also play at right-back, played nearly a hundred Premier League games for the Gunners over seven years. However, his move to the Eagles has gone sour, and he’s reported to be training with the club’s youth team. He was also left out of the club’s official team photo this summer.
According to The Sun, Frank Lampard is attempting to persuade the great player to join the Championship on loan. Despite his £4 million signing, the defender has never played in the Premier League for the club.”
According to the report, Palace will let the former Bolton Wanderers prospect to leave on a temporary basis after falling out with his Austrian coach, Glasner.
Coventry’s defence is a source of concern, having conceded 37 league goals this season, and the team lacks experience, which Holding would undoubtedly add to the side – a quality the team has not had at centre-back since Kyle McFadzean left for Blackburn Rovers last January.
