‘Initial payment’: Kld told he’ll have to smash his Sunderland transfer record to sign 15-goal star in January

Sunderland’s record player signing under Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is Milan Aleksic, who cost the Black Cats an estimated £3.5 million this summer.

Could Sunderland’s owner break that record during the January transfer window? Sunderland signed Milan Aleksic on the final day of the last summer transfer window. Kyril Louis-Dreyfus made a historic signing, but Aleksic has had a difficult time at the Stadium of Light, appearing in only two Championship games.

Sunderland appear to be ready to conduct business now that the January transfer window has opened. The Black Cats are associated with a lot of names, and some players are receiving interest, including Jobe Bellingham, who has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United.

Louie Barry has been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light. Sunderland want to sign Barry on loan after he scored 15 goals for League One Stockport County during the first half of the season.

Sunderland revealed how much they will need to pay on Louie Barry.

Aston Villa recently disclosed that they want to sell Barry rather than loan him out again. That initially knocked Sunderland out of the running, since Barry was previously priced at £12.5 million, which was considerably out of Sunderland’s price range.

According to Villa News, former Aston Villa scout Bryan King believes Unai Emery’s team will ask as little as £7 million for the former Barcelona star.

He stated: “They’d be looking for a fee of around £7 million.” “That could increase depending on looks and other performance-related aspects. Barry will have very few opportunities at the club when he returns. “Therefore, Villa may be looking to cash in, and now is the moment to sell him.

I’d expect it’ll be one of those transactions where there’s an initial payment, then if everything goes well, there could be another payment, bringing the amount up to £10 million.”

How much will Sunderland spend in January?

Sunderland paid £2 million for Romaine Mundle in January, along with an unknown price for Leo Hjelde. And we should expect a minimal amount of spending this time around.

But it won’t come close to the £7 million required to sign Barry from Villa. Speaking to Sunderland AFC News recently, transfer specialist Graeme Bailey said of Sunderland’s January spending: “We are unlikely to see major investment in the New Year, but keeping their star men would be the really big achievement for the Black Cats and their boss Regis Le Bris.” Sunderland’s primary goal during the January transfer window may be to retain players. Then, at the end of the window, when most of the outgoings are completed, we may witness some last-minute spending.
