Reading FC fans to descend on the capital in their thousands

When Charlton Athletic’s first allocation sells out, more than 2,500 Reading fans are expected to arrive in London tomorrow.

With its deep stand behind the goal, the away game is always well-liked. The Royals’ 4-0 loss at the Valley last season had the biggest away attendance (2,518).

Given that the first, advanced allocation of 2,510 officially sold out on Thursday, it appears that this accomplishment will be repeated.

Royals supporters can now purchase an additional 600 tickets from the ground at the gate, increasing the total number of tickets that can be distributed to nearly 3,100.

On New Year’s Day, Reading sold out the allocation in their match against Cambridge United, winning 3-1, their third away win of the year.

Two London away trips occur inside a month when Leyton Orient hosts the Royals on January 25.

Over 1,700 people travelled to Birmingham City on the first day of play, compared to the previous season high of 1,843 at Wycombe Wanderers.
