Emmanuel Latte Lath, a striker for Middlesbrough, is set to join Leicester City for £12 million, reports Alan Nixon.

Middlesbrough’s star player, striker Emmanuel Latte Lath, has been the subject of persistent rumours.

The Ivorian’s agent has frequently spoken publicly about interest in the Boro star and prospective higher-level moves. This has not changed as we approach the winter transfer window.

Links with Premier League clubs have been widespread, and it appears the 26-year-old is finally closing in on a move.

According to reporter Alan Nixon’s Patreon, Middlesbrough’s Latte Lath is set to join relegation-threatened Leicester City. A £12 million transaction is in place and appears to be on track, albeit it has to be seen whether there are any further fees or add-ons.

Despite being linked with West Ham and Ipswich Town, the Boro star is set to join the King Power Stadium instead.

Latte Lath’s contract with Middlesbrough is valid until 2027, with an additional 12-month extension option.

Since joining Middlesbrough in the summer of 2023, Latte Lath has established himself as a valuable player.

Following a difficult start to the season, the former Atalanta player now has nine goals and two assists in 25 Championship games. The striker’s goals have been inconsistent, with three consecutive games without a goal after scoring against Millwall and Plymouth Argyle.

Nevertheless, Latte Lath is a key player whether he’s scoring or not. He now has 27 goals and three assists to his name in 62 outings for Boro.

Who else could attract interest?

Middlesbrough may be interested in other major assets, either in January or in the summer of 2025.

Rav van den Berg is a valuable asset and future star in defence, and Hayden Hackney is never far away from the links. Aidan Morris may also capture the eye, while Finn Azaz’s stellar performances may only go undetected at a higher level for so long.

Some periphery players, like as Matthew Hoppe, could potentially be granted opportunities away from Teesside.
