Frank Lampard confirms major Coventry City injury boost ahead of Norwich City clash

Sky Blues head coach Lampard has released a fitness update.

Frank Lampard provided an update on the fitness of Coventry City striker Haji Wright.

The USA international has not played for the Sky Blues since the beginning of November, and they have sorely missed their leading scorer. Lampard recently announced that the 26-year-old has made excellent progress in his comeback from an ankle injury.

At Coventry’s pre-match press conference on Friday, the Sky Blues head coach stated, “He came out on the grass yesterday for his first sort of steps outside with some mobility work to get moving.” The team will face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday (3pm). We hope he returns within the next two weeks.

“But it’s been a while, so I want to be cautious about how long he’ll remain on the grass before joining us.

“He has to get his fitness up and the staff have been doing a good job of doing what they can to keep him as fit as he can be without being out there doing the stuff he really needs to do.”

Wright had scored seven goals in 15 Championship games this season before being sidelined by injury.
