Aston Villa and Tottenham are among the clubs reportedly eyeing a move for Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn as they look to bolster their squad in the transfer market.
The 25-year-old German has been in outstanding form this season, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, including Spurs, Newcastle, and Aston Villa, who are reportedly keeping a close eye on him.
According to TBR Football, Kuhn has emerged as a top target for several English clubs, including Aston Villa, who are trying to strengthen their right flank. Manager Unai Emery has been looking for alternatives due to Leon Bailey’s inconsistent performances, and Kuhn’s dynamic and creative playing style makes him an appeal.
Since reportedly paying £3 million to join Celtic from Rapid Wien in January 2024, Kuhn has rapidly established himself as one of the Scottish Premiership’s best players.
He scored two goals in Celtic’s decisive 3-1 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig, demonstrating his capacity to perform well under duress and garnering widespread acclaim.
With 14 goals and 11 assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this season, Kuhn has been extremely prolific for the team, bringing his total to 17 goals and 14 assists in 43 games.
He is now essential to Celtic and on the verge of being called up to the German national team thanks to his outstanding performances.
Even if Celtic is want to keep their talented winger, they may find it tough to turn down a high offer, particularly given the large number of interested parties. Since last summer, teams like Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Crystal Palace have been keeping an eye on Kuhn’s development in addition to the three Premier League teams mentioned above.
He has been selected by the Bees as a replacement for the in-form Bryan Mbeumo, who has also been linked to a move away, according to earlier reports.
In addition to meeting Villa’s urgent right wing demands, acquiring Kuhn would support the team’s goal of assembling a team capable of long-term success. Kuhn’s contract expires in 2029, thus any agreement will probably need a large financial outlay.
Kuhn’s arrival might significantly expand Villa’s attacking options and strengthen Emery’s intentions for the team’s future if they are able to outbid their opponents.
