Motherwell were WRONGLY denied goal against Rangers as KMI panel finds one other VAR intervention was incorrect

MOTHERWELL were wrongly denied a goal against Rangers yesterday, according to the SFA’s Key Match Incident (KMI) panel.

The match at Fir Park ended in a 2-2 draw, with Hamza Igamane leaping off the bench to rescue a point for Gers who were two goals down at half-time.

But the game wasn’t without some moments of controversy.

Most notably, a disallowed goal for the home side with the score poised at 2-1.

Rangers goalie Jack Butland flailed at a corner and was unable to clear the ball after coming under pressure from ‘Well striker Tony Watt inside the six yard box.

Referee Kevin Clancy signalled for a free-kick despite the ball crossing the line and his decision was backed by Steven  McLean and Alan Mulvanny in the VAR room, with no calls for a look at the monitor.
