Leeds deal on the cards with Nottingham Forest ace set to leave on loan.

On January 1, the newspaper stated on its website that 22-year-old Omobamidele is “poised to go out on loan” in the upcoming weeks. The Republic of Ireland international has only made one appearance for Forest this season in all competitions, and it is said that Elland Road is a “possible destination.”

Leeds likely to sign Omobamidele in January transfer window

In September of last year, Omobamidele moved from Norwich to Forest. Despite apparently spending an incredible £11 million on the former Canaries star, the Premier League’s top teams have only used him 15 times in all competitions since.

Before his big-money move to the East Midlands, the young Irishman was reportedly doing well at Carrow Road. Since then, he has essentially stagnated and may have become disillusioned by the lack of opportunities he has had. However, there is little possibility that Omobamidele would be joining his squad anytime soon given Nuno Espirito Santo’s club is dominating the Premier League. However, injuries have limited Omobamidele’s time at the City Ground.

If Daniel Farke has any problems with his starting center-backs in the last few months of the season, Leeds might give him the opportunity to be a benchwarmer for them. But as he looks to jump-start his faltering club and international career, would the defender desire that? Given that there will undoubtedly be Championship teams willing to sign him on loan in order to start, it seems improbable.
