Grant Hanley out: The 5 Norwich City players surely eyeing an early January exit
The 2024/25 season was always going to be difficult for the Canaries, who began a new era this summer with Johannes Hoff Thorup as manager. Furthermore, they lost some significant players from previous season, with Gabriel Sara and Jon Rowe moving on to bigger opportunities in Europe.
As a result of these changes at the club, Norwich has spent the majority of the first half of the season in the middle of the table, unable to find consistency.

Norwich’s club captain, Johannes Hoff Thorup, has indicated that he will not interfere with Hanley’s exit in January, despite a desire to keep him, given his contract ends in the summer.
Christian Fassnacht is another player whose contract expires in the summer and has made few appearances for the Canaries this season. The winger has been out of action for the bulk of the season due to injury, and his future with the club is uncertain.
Fassnacht scored eight goals in the Championship last season, so he will be a minor miss, but at the age of 31, Norwich
Tony Springett, 22, will eventually be searching for regular men’s football, but he isn’t getting it at Carrow Road right now.
This season, the winger has made a few substitute appearances for Norwich but has failed to get into Thorup’s starting lineup. With his contract expiring in the summer, the club may attempt to sell him in January or loan him out for one final chance to impress.
A similar situation exists for fellow 22-year-old Jaden Warner, who has made only one appearance for Norwich this season, in the EFL Cup against Stevenage. The defender’s contract ends in the summer, thus, like Springett, he may be handed an early exit in the
