City boss on Hatters win, transfer window and Sainz
To earn a New Year’s Day victory and make it seven points from nine over the holiday season, Marcelino Nunez beat Thomas Kaminski with a swinging strike from outside the box in the 73rd minute. Thorup responded to a fiercely contested win, the start of the transfer market, and the most recent information regarding the FA investigation into Borja Sainz.
Because of the challenging circumstances, the constant rain, and the spongy surface, I’m thrilled with the guys’ mentality and the victory. Following the warm-up, we discussed how much we could really accomplish using our typical style of play.
Additionally, we made the decision to adopt a slightly more straightforward strategy, focusing more on second balls, runs in behind, and similar circumstances. And I believe we performed admirably in that regard, helping one another, tracing back, protecting the box, and handling all the various scenarios that may arise.
I believe we performed admirably. In fact, it was evident from the beginning of the first half, since our first fifteen to twenty minutes were excellent. We discover the flow and rhythm, and we experience some risky situations. Emi (Marcondes) and more moments in and around the box, where it’s only the last pass or the last call, are our chances. Shortly before halftime, Ante (Crnac) gives Borja that square pass. In fact, I was really happy about that.
They then gain momentum after a mediocre start to the second half, and we have to defend by putting people in to block shots and stop crosses, corner kicks, long throws, and other similar plays. Our goal was to get Ashley Barnes onto the field. He helped us shift the momentum in our favor. Although that goal was crucial and decisive, the second half of the game was quite close. And they were probably a bit ahead, to be fair.
