Following a meeting, cleaner Maureen Quinn was terminated with immediate effect, as was her son, Edward Quinn, who was suspended from his security position at the club’s Lennoxtown training base.

According to Maureen, the situation is unacceptable.

“I have done nothing wrong, and I am being blamed for whatever it is. I know my son would not do anything bad. We are only scapegoats. I’d like to clear my name.

She said, “They called me in three times for meetings about this.

“In my job at Lennoxtown, I empty bins and transport them to the bin room using a cart. They believe I looked through the dumpsters and found this document, which I delivered to my son, who photographed it.

“I support Celtic because my son and husband do, but I can’t name half of their players.” I don’t care what’s on a piece of paper.

“I was in tears.” I’m gutted and ill for Edward, too.”

The leaked transfer list includes Chelsea’s Reece James, who had recently spent a season on loan at Wigan Athletic, and Scott McTominay, who joined Napoli last summer from Manchester United.

James Justin, who left Luton Town for Leicester City, and Fikayo Tomori, who played for Derby County the previous season, were also named in the transfer papers.
