Sheffield United fans will be hopeful that their transfer activity will take off as swiftly as one of their rivals after Burnley made their first signing of the January transfer window

Chris Wilder, the manager of United, has spoken with the club’s new owners and seems certain that everyone is in agreement about hiring during this window. The Blades are in dire need of new players after being forced to use academy graduates to fill their bench in the last two games because of illness and injury.

Oliver Sonne, a Peruvian international defender, has joined the Clarets, who are currently in third place in the championship and only one point behind United, for an undisclosed amount from Danish team Silkeborg.
