Fabrizio Romano Shares Wolves Update on January Transfer Plans
Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to add new players in January to help manager Vitor Pereira build on his success at Molineux, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Portuguese manager has led Wolves to an unblemished start in three games and plans to make significant signings to strengthen their Premier League survival chances in 2025.
Wolves, who are currently 17th in the league rankings heading into 2025, have risen out of the relegation zone thanks to a string of encouraging results, but they are still ready to do business in January and are apparently pursuing new signings next month.
According to Romano, he is ‘hearing several things’ about incomings at Wolves, which could indicate that the Molineux outfit is in for a busy winter window:
Wolves have struggled to replace players such as Max Kilman and Pedro Neto after losing them to rival Premier League clubs in the summer, and they are believed to be looking for new additions in defence.
The Molineux hierarchy aims to strengthen their center-back position following Yerson Mosquera’s season-ending injury in October.
According to Sky Sports, Lens has identified Kevin Danso as their ‘top centre-back target’ for January.
As a teenager, the 26-year-old attended the Reading and MK Dons academies before joining Southampton on loan for the 2020/21 season, where he made six Premier League appearances.
Wolves’ first game of 2025 will be against Nottingham Forest at Molineux, following a 2-2 draw away to Tottenham on Sunday.
