Coventry City have some gaps in their squad to fill in what will be Frank Lampard’s first transfer window
Frank Lampard gets his first opportunity to shape Coventry City’s squad next month, with the January transfer window finally upon us.
The Sky Blues boss, who replaced long time manager Mark Robins just over a month ago, has seen his side win three of his seven matches and move steadily away from the danger zone.
Lampard has kept his transfer cards close to his chest so far but did admit he would like to help the current squad with defensive leadership, midfield ingenuity and cutting edge out wide the obvious issues to address.
Most will know when the window opens – but here’s a run down of when it closes and what’s happening across the continent.
When does the 2025 January transfer window open?
The window for English clubs opens on Wednesday January 1, 2025 – on the day the Sky Blues play Cardiff City.
The window is actually longer than a month and shuts on Monday February 3, 2025 at 11pm, two days after the trip to Swansea and before they face Leeds United at the CBS Arena.
What about the rest of Europe?
The picture is pretty much the same across the other top leagues, France (1pm GMT), Germany, Scotland and Spain – also close on February 3, though times vary.
Italian clubs have until 7pm on Saturday February 1 to do their business but in Turkey the window closes on Tuesday February 11.
