West Brom new manager: Lepkowski shares what he has heard about Luke Williams.
According to Chris Lepkowski, West Brom have “some interest” in Swansea manager Luke Williams to replace Carlos Corberan. The freelance journalist stated that the 43-year-old has been named as the Baggies seek a replacement for the Spaniard. While the Englishman is in the talks about taking leadership, nothing is concrete at this time. Lepkowski tweeted on his personal X account (December 29): “Just a mention about him [Williams].” I’ve heard there’s some interest. “No more.”
West Brom to appoint Luke Williams?
The Hawthorns fans will undoubtedly be hoping Shilen Patel brings a progressive head coach to the Black Country club, and Williams is just that. The 43-year-old previously worked as an assistant to Russell Martin with the Swans before returning to lead them in January 2024. Swansea’s form improved since the English manager arrived last season, and they are now tenth in the Championship. West Brom have failed to win their previous two games without Corberan, losing at Derby County and drawing at Sheffield United on Sunday (December 29). The Baggies enjoyed a solid start to the season, and while victories dwindled in Corberan’s last months in charge, he only lost three league games.
Supporters will evidently want The Albion to at least get a playoff spot, and Williams could be the one to steer them into the future.
The hierarchy at The Hawthorns has a massive decision to make that could affect the prospects of the team in the coming months.
