Jack Clarke remains a popular topic among Sunderland fans. And, ahead of the January transfer window, there has been some speculation about his future.
Clarke, who signed for Ipswich Town for £20 million in the summer, has yet to meet expectations, with no goals and two assists in 15 Premier League appearances this season.
This year, some Ipswich Town fans have criticized Clarke’s performances. It has sparked online speculation that Clarke could be loaned out in January, and Sunderland may be interested in re-signing their former star player.
The idea has undoubtedly sparked debate among Sunderland fans on social media. Sunderland AFC News spoke with transfer expert Graeme Bailey about the possibility of Clarke returning to the Stadium of Light, though no official link has been established.
Graeme Bailey discusses a prospective Jack Clarke return to Sunderland.
Speaking to Sunderland AFC News, Bailey stated that Ipswich Town still has high hopes for the 24-year-old at Portman Road.
And Bailey has confirmed that Ipswich intend to send Clarke out on loan during the January transfer window, adding that the player does not want to leave the club anytime soon.
Bailey elaborated: “He hasn’t started much, but he has over a dozen Premier League appearances, Ipswich like him a lot – he won’t be going out on-loan from what I am told, I don’t believe the player wants to go.”
