The Jambos looked set to leapfrog their Highland opponents as a double from teenager James Wilson, but County staged a late, late comeback to break Hearts.

Panic seemed to set in for the visitors as the Staggies launched balls into the box late on and Joshua Nisbet was able to fire home after a bit of pinball in the box.

Then another cross into the box wasn’t dealt with and goalkeeper Craig Gordon inexplicably let the ball squirm under him and Jordan White was able to tap in an equaliser.

Hearts manager Neil Critchley criticized his team for “crazy” late moments, including a missed penalty that could have led to a 3-0 victory.

Fans are losing patience with the manager, less than three months after his appointment.

The outcome was the latest in a series of embarrassing incidents in recent weeks.

Hearts were eliminated from the Conference League after a draw with Moldovan minnows Petrocub, followed by defeats to Kilmarnock and Hibs in the Edinburgh derby.

Critchley first seemed to have improved despite inheriting a shambles, but the team now appears to have reverted to form.

Some supporters oppose allowing him to bring in his own players during the transfer window, despite Hearts’ move for striker Elton Kabangu.

This is My Story Podcast stated, “Do not let that man spend a single penny in January.” Get him out before we do a Cathro or a Stendel, and allow him to bring in players when everyone knows he’ll be hunted by February.”

One fan commented, “Lose to 10 dudes killie. You can’t beat Moldovan part-timers. Lose at home to Hibs after taking a 2-0 lead in the 95th minute. “Critchley is hopeless and does not deserve a transfer window.”

Another agreed: “Critchley must go. Kilmarnock, Petrocub, Hibernian, and Ross

A different person posted: “Can’t allow this to continue any longer, can we get someone in who has a clue and can make difficult decisions.”

Hearts supporters have expressed their opinions on chairwoman Ann Budge and the club’s board through shouts and banners in recent weeks.

Fans are preparing a protest outside Tynecastle’s main stand before their match against Motherwell on Thursday, citing recent results as the cause.

This is My Story wrote in a separate post, “Seven bosses in ten years. Another managerial calamity unfolds. Another relegation struggle.

“More money will be thrown into the void to save the season in January.” £18 million of our money was handed away through the FoH. £25 million in ‘gifts’ to balance the books. Season ticket sales totaled millions of dollars. Matchday money in the millions. Millions for Budge’s brother.

“The FoH maintained radio quiet except to relay messages from the board to us. Fan-owned, not fan-run. Shut up and give us your money, like.

“Call for all Jambos to congregate on the Plaza at 2 p.m. against Motherwell. Every 18 months, we find ourselves back in a crisis because we keep making the incorrect decisions.

“It’s time for a change.” It is time for the FoH to step forth and represent us, not the board.
