Pundit tips Sheffield United to beat Burnley & Blackburn Rovers in McBurnie transfer battle

The Blades are reportedly among the promotion contenders vying for McBurnie’s services, joining Burnley and Blackburn Rovers, who were both reported to have expressed interest last week, according to Alan Nixon. Since all three are vying for promotion from the Championship, it’s safe to assume that McBurnie will have plenty of suitors from many of the Premier League-seeking teams if he decides to return to England. McBurnie has a wealth of expertise in both the top division and the second division.

Given his prior working relationship with Wilder, former England international and current EFL commentator Carlton Palmer thinks McBurnie would be most successful at Bramall Lane; however, game time will probably be the most important deciding factor. Palmer stated in an interview with Football League World: “Sheffield United has expressed interest in having Oli McBurnie rejoin the team. Additionally, he has been connected to teams like Burnley and Blackburn.

“I would think that with Chris Wilder, given the way that Wilder manages, that Oli McBurnie would like a return to Sheffield United.”Upon closer inspection, Sheffield United remains in second place with 49 points, just two points behind Leeds. Burnley is currently in third place with 48 points. In light of this, I believe Blackburn has a lot of work ahead of him.

“Blackburn and John Eustace have really impressed me. With 38 points, they are in fifth place in the standings, and he is performing admirably. However, it’s where McBurnie is going to play regularly. “If he sits down with Wilder and he’s not going to play football and be sat on the bench, then I say he’s going to find that very difficult. He wants to play football.

“The Blades are also playing well, so I believe Wilder would still have the advantage. But so are Blackburn and Burnley. By the conclusion of the season, they’ll be there or thereabouts. As it is right now, they would most likely have the advantage over other clubs because they were a fan favorite at Sheffield United.
