Official bid on way for Celtic player – Offering Brendan Rodgers’ side more money to beat competition.
Alexandro Bernabei of Celtic has been on loan at SC Internacional since March, and his future lies away from Brendan Rodgers’ side. According to UOL, Celtic is seeking €5 million for the left-back, while Brazilian club Palmeiras is also interested in acquiring him.
Internacional vice-president José Olavo Bisol said the 24-year-old wants to stay and is in talks with Celtic.
On Monday, we covered allegations from Brazil that Internacional director André Mazzuco will visit Glasgow to broker a deal with Celtic for Bernabei.
According to Bolavip in Brazil, Palmeiras will not let up on their chase of the Celtic-owned player.
He made 25 appearances for Internacional and impressed Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira.
The Argentine’s future with the former is dependent on whether they can reach an agreement with Brendan Rodgers’ side and retain a preferential option until today.
Palmeiras, for their part, are waiting for his loan arrangement with Internacional to expire before making an official approach to Celtic.
Bolvaip makes it clear that this is their own knowledge, and that Palmeiras intends to offer €7 million, which is €2 million more than Celtic’s required amount. This would gratify the Scottish champions, and the bid may help them defeat Internacional in the process.
