Norwich City player ‘favourite’ target for club – Reasonable asking price could favour negotiations.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Norwich City’s Borja Sainz has had bids from other clubs, but the Canaries are unwilling to allow him leave in January.
The winger has 16 goals and two assists in 26 appearances, and his performances have not gone unnoticed in Spain.
According to Sport, Athletic are targeting the 23-year-old to improve their assault for the upcoming season.
The Spanish club expects Nico Williams to depart next summer and is seeking for a successor in the market, with the Norwich City player reportedly being their ‘favorite’ target.
Sainz was born in the Basque region and was part of Athletic’s youth system from 2012 to 2017.
The attacker’s contract runs until 2026, and despite his impressive performances for the English club, Sport claims he’s worth €2 million. This is likely within the La Liga club’s reach, making his deal more reasonable for them.
If Sainz does not sign a new deal, Athletic may find it easier to negotiate with Norwich City.
