Mark Robins to Stoke City decision made as ‘perfect fit’ for club

Former Coventry City manager Robins is claimed to have been interviewed by the Potters as they seek a replacement for Narcis Pelach.

“All of these managers are excellent managers. But, as I previously stated, I believed the decision to fire Steve Schumacher was harsh. I really do.

“I felt it was harsh. Give him time. He shown his abilities in Plymouth. Obviously, we’re discussing top candidates here.

“Mark Robins and his work at Coventry, Steve Cooper’s departure from Leicester City and their current position in the bottom three, and David Wagner and Ryan Lowe, whose work at Norwich and Preston is well known.

“They would all make good replacements. All of these can work on a small budget.

“They are all market-savvy and excellent managers. Who do you think would be the best person to manage Stoke City?

“I’ll take any of them. I believe they are all good managers. If you asked me, which one would I choose? Maybe I’d go with Mark Robins.

“I think at that level, and what he has also achieved at Coventry over the years, I think doing that on a shoestring and rebuilding every season and I think that could make him the perfect fit for Stoke City.”
