According to Football Insider, Celtic are in negotiations with Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney to sign a pre-contract
agreement.
The report suggests that Rodgers is ‘working’ on a deal to bring the Scotland international back to Parkhead on a free
transfer at the end of the season, as his current contract with the Gunners expires next summer.
Due to his expiring contract, Celtic can negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the left-footed star when the January
transfer market opens, allowing him to officially join Rodgers and his side ahead of the 2025/26 season.
According to the site, Tierney is keen in returning to Glasgow for a second time with the Hoops and is willing to turn
down offers from other clubs in Europe to do so, with Football Insider reporting that several other clubs are in the
running to sign him.
It also reports that Arsenal would be willing to let him go on loan for the second half of the season before a free move
in the summer, implying that the Bhoys might negotiate a pre-contract deal in January while simultaneously signing
him on loan in the short term.
Tierney might be a wonderful addition to the team in the winter window, if they sign him on loan first, and
Celtic are looking to recruit a left winger for the second half of the season, and have been linked with Sarpsborg
forward Sondre Orjasaeter. He might provide competition in attacking areas for Rodgers.
He is a 21-year-old forward who primarily plays on the left flank and seeks to cut inside onto his right foot to bring
quality in the final third, scoring and creating goals for his team.
The Norway U21 international excels at creating high-quality opportunities for his teammates when he comes infield
with his preferred foot, as evidenced by his strong form for Sarpsborg in the Eliteserien during the 2024 season.

As shown in the table above, Orjasaeter could be a significant upgrade over Daizen Maeda in terms of creativity, as he averages more assists, ‘big chances’ created, and dribbles per game.
Celtic might now rebuild their left-hand side in January by signing the Norwegian starlet and bringing in Tierney to play alongside him at left-back.
The Scottish full-back possesses the offensive ability to be the ideal full-back for the 21-year-old winger, and the two might combine to deadly effect in the final third.
Orjasaeter, as previously said, prefers to cut inside onto his right foot from the left wing to cause issues at the top of the pitch, making him an ideal winger for an overlapping full-back.
Coming infield, the Norwegian maestro may draw the opposing right-back inside and create space for Tierney to blast on and provide crosses on the left wing, giving the opposing defense a slew of problems to deal with at once.
During his first time with the Hoops, the Scotland international provided 37 assists in 170 matches across all competitions, averaging one every 3.14. Tierney might provide more creativity from a left-back position, while Greg Taylor has 30 assists in 196 appearances for Celtic.
This means that if the Hoops can sign both Orjasaeter and the Arsenal outcast, he may be the ideal addition to give the overlapping danger that would complement the winger’s desire to come inside.
