After facing Liam Delap, Colwill and his centre-back partner Tosin Adarabioyo experienced a genuinely fantastic evening.

Colwill did not have a nice time overall, and at one point during the game, he grew particularly upset.

The 21-year-old was made fun of by Ipswich fans who said things like “he’s going to cry in a minute,” to which he actually responded quite well.

According to journalist Bobby Vincent, Colwill burst out laughing when he heard the singing of the home crowd at Portman Road.

After the Blues’ 2-1 defeat to Fulham, Colwill said that Chelsea were not in the title chase. That definitely seems to be the case now following that loss to Ipswich.

Levi Colwill was Chelsea’s best-performing defender against Ipswich Town

Although it wasn’t Colwill’s best game, he was troubled by Delap occasionally, though not as much as Adarabioyo. Nevertheless, the Englishman was unquestionably the best player on the night when compared to Chelsea’s other defenders. Colwill won all of his aerial duels, made three clearances, and was never dribbled past.

Chelsea has demonstrated that their defence has weaknesses, despite the fact that they have attacked effectively under Enzo Maresca this season.

Although Colwill does not appear to be the issue in their backline, the club may try to remedy it by entering the transfer market. If Chelsea does choose to add a new defender in January, it won’t be the England international who is replaced.
