Corberan exit confirmed at West Brom as glass of wine detail emerges.

Carlos Corberan signed his contract with Valencia “telematically” late on Christmas Eve, confirming his departure from West Brom, according to Nacho Sanchis. On 24 December, the Relevo journalist stated via his personal X account that the Spaniard was holding a glass of wine as he signed a two-and-a-half-year contract. Albion, meanwhile, confirmed the 41-year-old’s resignation on social media later on Tuesday, expressing their appreciation for his two-year service.

West Brom new manager hunt underway as Carlos Corberan joins Valencia

Corberan’s departure is regrettable, especially given that the Baggies are one place behind the play-offs. However, the former Leeds assistant can’t be blamed for wishing to return to Valencia, where he was born. He also has the opportunity to lead a top-tier squad for the first time since his brief stint with Olympiacos in 2022. West Brom have already launched their search for a new manager, with numerous individuals being touted. Mark Robins has emerged as the bookmakers’ favourite [Oddschecker], and Steve Cooper is also being considered following his dismissal at Leicester [DOOD].

Many fans would like to see Graham Potter take over at The Hawthorns, but his wage demands are beyond Albion’s budget. Nonetheless, it appears that the West Midlands outfit will reveal their replacement for Corberan soon. Chris Brunt and Damia Abella will take over for the Championship club in the meantime, according to Andrew Nestor via X on December 24.
