Club’s new president pushing to sign Southampton man – Saints make initial demands clear as talks opened

Serdal Adalı, the new president of Besiktas, is attempting to sign Paul Onuachu from Southampton, who have set a €13 million asking price for the striker. Fanatik claims that Adalı is committed to bringing Onuachu back to Turkey and has initiated communication with Southampton to do so.

According to the publication, Adalı intends to “detonate the bomb” by signing Onuachu, who had a successful loan stint with Trabzonspor in the past. To talk about transfers and the club’s future ambitions, Adalı has already met with Serdar Topraktepe, Besiktas’ technical director, and captain Necip Uysal.

In order to “lift the team and excite the community,” they began working on transfers, and Onuachu is regarded as the man who can accomplish both. In January, he plans to “push all the conditions” to add the Southampton striker to their roster, and the manager of the player has already responded favorably. In order to work out “exchange formulas,” he will also discuss a potential trade with Southampton, who initially need €13 million for any move to occur.

After suffering at Southampton this season—a continuation of his prior troubles at the club after a significant move from Belgium in 2023—Onuachu would be eager to play in Turkey once more. Besiktas’ new president has his sights set on the 30-year-old regardless of whether they are prepared to pay Southampton’s initial demands or wish to negotiate a lower price.
